TED Conferences is a nonprofit media organization founded in 1984, dedicated to spreading meaningful ideas through conferences and online talks. With a mission of "Ideas Worth Spreading," TED has evolved from its origins in technology, entertainment, and design to encompass a wide range of topics, including science, business, arts, and global issues.
The organization hosts an annual main conference in Vancouver, Canada, where over 1,000 attendees from diverse fields gather to exchange ideas and inspire change. TED Talks, available for free online, feature short presentations designed to educate and entertain, covering a variety of subjects in more than 100 languages. Additionally, TED supports community-led events through its TEDx program, allowing local organizers to host their own gatherings centered around TED's core ideas. TED's commitment to accessibility ensures that its content reaches a global audience, fostering discussion and learning across cultures.
